Trump’s beautiful wall won’t stop the furious!by Robert Moore, on
On May 5th, 1862, Mexico’s army was fighting against all odds and somehow managed to gain a historic victory over French forces in the Battle of Puebla. That’s what Cinco de Mayo is all about – commemorating an unlikely victory under the orders of none other than Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza. Here in the states, the day has become associated with Mexican-American culture and is a day we celebrate and give nod to our friends down south. And, with today being Cinco de Mayo, it got me thinking about all of the political drama surrounding Mexican-American relations and the whole idea of building a wall to separate the two countries.
There’s been a lot of crap flung around as a result of Trump’s wall, but now I’m thinking that wall might not even matter. See, we just have to look back at the Fast and Furious franchise to see that the answer to circumventing a wall – if it’s ever actually built – as already been presented. As you’ll see in the clip above, it’s actually quite simple – just take the Elon Musk approach and dig yourself a tunnel. It worked for the guys in Fast and Furious, and surely it could work for our friends over in Mexico as well. Of course, you’ll need to get yourself a fast car, some precise GPS, and maybe someone who can monitor border patrol from afar, but in theory, it could work. Not that I would encourage illegal immigration or anything, but figured I’d point out a solution.
