The French automaker Citroen has announced that their video game inspired GT Concept will make its U.K. debut when it attends the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The shapely concept first appeared at the 2008 Paris Auto Show and just last weekend was in Le Mans participating in the parade lap ahead of the 24 hour classic. The replica of the virtual machine from the real driving simulator has been busy making appearances around the world, and on July 3-5, the GT Concept won’t be taking it easy when it takes part in the Sunday Times Super Car Run up the 1.16 mile course in front of thousands of spectators.

The GT Concept will also be featured in the video game Gran Turismo5 for the Playstation 3 home entertainment system and will undergo a limited production run.

Measuring in at almost fifteen feet in length and just over three feet tall, the GTbyCITROEN is set apart from the rest of the road going vehicles on the market by a large wraparound windscreen that flows from the front of the vehicle all the way into the rear airfoil. The body is also enhanced by a series of large air intakes at the front and the side, horizontal headlamps and diamond-effect 21 inch rims. Did we mention that this next generation super car is also a gullwing?

The striking GTbyCITROEN supercar concept will make its UK debut climbing the famous 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill at this year’s Festival of Speed (3-5 July).

Getting in some practice for the Festival of Speed, GTbyCITROEN has been busy completing laps of honor at both the Nürburgring and Le Mans 24 hour endurance races. The 2008 Louis Vuitton Classic Concept Award winner took to the Le Mans circuit this weekend with 150 cars for the famous parade lap.

The car first hit the headlines at the Paris Motorshow last October where the unique partnership between Citroen and Polyphony, designer of the driving simulation game Gran Turismo5 on the Playstation 3, unveiled the real world replica of the digital vehicle.

Measuring nearly five-meters long (4.96m), and just over a meter high (1.09m), the GTbyCITROEN is characterized by a large wraparound windscreen which flows into the roof and on into the rear mobile airfoil. The dynamic supercar feel is further enhanced by wide air intakes, a flat underside, rear air-diffuser, clear-cut horizontal headlamps, gullwing doors and diamond-effect 21 inch aluminum wheels.

The GTbyCITROEN will climb the Goodwood Hill as part of the Sunday Times Supercar Run.
