The supercar has just 300 miles on the odo, comes with a plethora of optional accessories, and is going for nearly a million dollars!

The mid-engined Ford GT first debuted back in 2004 and was in production for a couple of years. Based on the credibility of the GT40, which recorded four consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans wins from 1966 to 1969, this moniker is significant in the company’s history.

In 2015, Ford announced that the GT was being brought back after a decade-long exile. The car is selling like hotcakes and a number of special editions are already launched, but there’s no denying that the GT is still quite an exclusive car. However, one example recently arrived on Bring-a-Trailer and has caught our attention.

How Is It On The Outside?

This 2018 Ford GT is finished in Liquid Blue with Competition Orange stripes, which is a $15,000 option.

The selling dealer reports that this example is wrapped in a paint protection film, too. It features a carbon-fiber monocoque structure bolted to the front and rear aluminum sub-frames that serve as active stress members for the hydraulically adjustable pushrod suspension system.

It rides on 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels with titanium lug nuts wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 245/35 section tires at the front and 325/30 section low-profile tires at the rear.

The braking duties are handled by Brembo six-piston monoblock calipers – painted in Competition Orange – sitting over 15.5-inch carbon-ceramic discs at the front and four-piston calipers mounted over 14.1-inch discs at the back. The car even comes with some drool-worthy equipment like gloss carbon-fiber exterior trim, butterfly doors, Gulf fender decals, lightweight Gorilla Glass windshield, a retractable active rear wing, and a rear diffuser.

What’s Special On The Inside?

This GT is equipped with the optional ‘Launch Control’ package inside the cabin.

This means the seats are wrapped in black leather and Alcantara upholstery with orange leather accents. The dash on the passenger side is also finished in the orange trim. Furthermore, exposed carbon fiber can be spotted in the door sills, center console, and the dash.

Step into the cockpit and you’ll find an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. Behind the wheel is a digital instrument cluster. The other features include A/C and a touchscreen infotainment system. It even features an adjustable pedal box and steering column. Apart from this, the GT comes with variable ride height, selectable drive modes, and launch control.

What Powers The Ford GT?

The car is powered by a 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost engine that dishes out 647 ponies and 550 pound-feet of torque. Some newer special editions make 660 horses and 550 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed Getrag dual-clutch transmission. The car takes roughly three seconds to sprint to 60 mph from a standstill.

Ford GT specifications

This 2018 Ford GT has a clean Carfax report and a Montana title. The sale also includes interior and exterior car covers, certificate of origin, manufacturer’s literature, promotional materials, and a battery tender. It was originally purchased from Shawnee Mission Ford in Shawnee, Kansas, and has had just one owner to date. At the time of penning this article, the GT has the highest bid of $751,000. With five more days for the auction to go, expect the price to get closer to the million-dollar mark.
