It still has a few days to go before the auction closes and it can be yours if you’re ready to shell over $650,000by Sidd Dhimaan, on
The Lexus LFA needs no introduction. It was in production for two years and the company made 500 examples in total. For some reason, Lexus wasn’t able to sell all the 500 examples. As of the end of 2020, there was still one LFA unsold! But, that doesn’t mean the car doesn’t have a demand. An LFA with 7,000 miles on the odo recently hit the Bring-a-Trailer auction and it has already attracted the highest bid of $650,000! It could receive higher bids since there are three more days at the time of writing this article.
What’s Special About This 2012 Lexus LFA?
This Lexus LFA is finished in the Starlight Black exterior shade. The seller noted that a clear paint-protection film has been applied to the exterior. It rides on 20-inch forged BBS wheels shod in 265/35 section tires at the front and 305/30 section tires at the rear. There are a lot of aero elements here, like the vented hood, side air intakes, carbon-fiber side skirts, a speed-sensing automatic rear spoiler, etc. At the rear, there is a triple central exhaust outlet with a diffuser sitting below it.
Lexus has underpinned the LFA on a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer construction with aluminum front and rear sub frames. The suspension system includes a double-wishbone at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear. There are KYB monotube dampers with remote reservoirs also all around. As for the braking duties, they’re taken over by carbon-ceramic rotors with Brembo six-piston calipers at the front and four at the rear.
The LFA features a Saddle Tan leather interior. This is not just on the seats, but also on the door panels, the lower dash, and the center console. Other than this, this LFA also comes with:
- 10-way power-adjustable heated seats
- Lexus Insider infotainment system with Voice Command
- 12-speaker Mark Levinson audio system
- Satellite Radio
- Carbon fiber trims all around
The LFA is powered by a 4.8-liter, naturally aspirated V-10 engine. It dishes out 552 ponies at 8,700 rpm and 354 pound-feet of twist at 6,400 rpm. The free-revving engine holds court all the way up to 9,400 rpm!
However, it is a gas-guzzler and delivers just 11 mpg in the city and 16 mpg on the highway.
Power is channeled to the rear wheels via an Aisin-sourced six-speed automated manual gearbox and a Torsen limited-slip differential. This combo enables the car to sprint to 62 mph from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds and is rated to go up to 202 mph. As for the car’s weight, it stands at around 3,250 pounds.
This 2012 Lexus LFA has 6,692 miles on the odo. Along with the car, you also get a two-piece carbon-fiber luggage set. A barrel combination lock and a badge are also thrown into the mix. Apart from all this, there’s a manufacturer’s literature, a vehicle order sheet, and three keys. With all the options on it, it came with a sticker price of $396,600. The Carfax report shows no accidents or damages and has service history in Minnesota, Illinois, California, and Montana. This LFA comes with a clean Montana title.
At the time of writing this piece, a total of 16 bids were placed, with $650,000 being the highest bid.
The auction ends on October 7, which means you still have about three days to claim it if this LFA floats your boat.
