It seems that not only the streets car are catching on fire lately! The same flaming fate happened to this Chevrolet Corvette driver at a Sports Car Club of America event at Elkhart Lake’s Road America. Whatever it was that came loose underneath the car to start the mishap is still a mystery. What we do know is that unaware his fiberglass bodied race car was burning and his tires had melted, the driver when full speed into the turn and well just follow the link to see the slideshow.

Well I guess it really happen on the track. I mean drivers are pushing their cars to the limit so an engine blowing or overheating is not really a weird to see on the circuit.

Sorry for the corvette, I wonder how does a car catches a fire when running.. well i know is that they are using a high octane gasoline that’s it.

I saw the video of this particular event being televised on the Speed channel advertised as: "Hot Corvette Racing Action at Road America!!!"What’s with the oompa-loompa in picture 10? did he eat the oranges that make you expand?

Hmmm. Hmmmm. "The cause: A fire he hadn’t noticed melted the tires." Not likely. More like the fluids causing the fire got on the tires. With all the burnings at the stake happening lately, at least this one was doing what it was supposed to. And it’ll live to see another day!
