Well, OK, now it’s the Allstate 400 at the Brickard,
But some things remain constant.
It’ll be a Corvette pacing the filed at the NASCAR Nextel Cup race this Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
This one is Artic White, a color previously reserved for the Ron Fellows special edition Z06.
Every NASCAR Brickyard race has been paced by a Chevy. The first race used a Chevrolet truck as a pace car.
This year, all of the 13 past pace vehicles will be featured at a special display at IMS sponsored by Chevrolet.
The race will be broadcast on ESPN, starting Sunday at 2 p.m., EST.
The car leading the pack will be capable of a top speed of 198, zero to sixty in 3.7 seconds, and a stunning red, white and blue paint scheme.
It’ll be a tough act to follow.
