In what arguably is one of the most expensive car crashes in recent history, a Pagani Zonda->ke942 that crashed last September after a catastrophic test drive has been sent for repair in Modena where the cars are made. The good news is that there’s hope for the Zonda.

The bad news is that it’s going to cost £300,000 or about $450,000. You read that right; almost half a million dollars just for repairs.

Insurance company Aviva, which is responsible for the payout for repairs of the Zonda, said that the cost for repairing the supercar is out of the ordinary for an insurer. A spokersperson for the company said: "This is the biggest insurance payout we have had for repairs to a private car in the UK."

Seeing as that there are only 10 Zondas produced every year – and that each car is made in painstaking detail – it’s no secret that the car costs a lot more than most houses on this side of the world. Then again, $450,000 for just a repair?

That’s completely unheard of, even for the Zonda’s lofty standards.
