Crashing cars for the sake of Mythbusting

Typically, we don’t like to hear the sounds of cars crashing into each other, or anything else for that matter, but today is a little bit different. Special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who host the show Mythbusters, found themselves in the middle of an embarrassing situation when fans and physicists called in to say that the mustached fellow made an incorrect statement. Jamie apparently stated in a previous episode that two cars hitting each other at 50mph is equivalent to one car hitting a wall at 100mph. After receiving tons of responses from fans and physicists alike, stating that this little fact was incorrect due to a guy named Newton and his third law, the two men decided to test this statement. Now entering the Mythssion Control episode.

What follows proves that these two men have one of the coolest jobs ever! The first video shows the duo testing this theory with clay and hammers while the second, shown after the jump, shows the experiment on a few unsuspectingDaewoos. Check ’em out!
