After being first announced back in 2014, the BMW X4 is now in its second generation - since of 2018. For the 2022 model year, the X4 has undergone numerous improvements, including a little bit more power under the hood. But even with 360 horsepower under the hood, the X4's engine has lots of room for improvement. Now, dAHLer Competition has found the best way to build on what BMW has already accomplished

What changes are made under the hood?

From the factory, the BMW X4 M40i is offered with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 360 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque - numbers that are not bad at all for a compact SUV. But the inline-six engine is capable of a lot more, as dAHLer Competition just proved. The tuner is offering two different stages of upgrades that can add as much as 75 horsepower under the hood. Stage one takes the final output up to 410 horsepower and 449 pound-feet of torque, while stage two takes it up to 430 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. While the tuner did not reveal what changes these two stages will include, it did confirm all performance components are compliant with the WLTP Euro 6 emissions standard.

In order to improve the engine sound, the tuner also added a four-pipe stainless steel rear muffler offered in either satin silver or ceramic-coated matt black. As an option, dAHLer will also offer a high-performance catalytic converter and a remote flap control system.

What other changes are offered?

As you might be used to from all the other packages dAHLer announced lately, there are a few changes done to both the exterior and the interior of the X4. The exterior changes aren't that big, since the X4 is a very good-looking car from the factory. But, with carbon fiber, you can never go wrong. As such, the tuner added a new front spoiler - inspired by the models with the M Sports package - and carbon mirror caps.

When it comes to the exterior though, the biggest changes were made in the wheel department. dAHLer is offering a very long list of sets to choose from, in various designs and colors. The first option is the CDC1 wheel, offered in both cast and forged versions. Depending on the option you go for, the dimensions will range from 20 to 22 inches, but all will be offered with high-performance tires. Then there are the 21-inch CDC2 wheels fitted with 245/40R21 and 285/35R21 tires. The tuner is offering a few other sets, with sizes ranging from 20 to 22 inches, and any desirable color. No matter what wheels you will go for, the package also includes a new set of sports springs that will lower the car's ride by 25 millimeters, or a sports suspension that allows the driver to adjust the ride height and rigidity.

For the interior, dAHLer is offering upholstery redone with leather or Alcantara, aluminum pedals, and new floor mats with the “dAHLer Competition Line” logo.
