A disguised 2008 Dodge Challenger has been spotted during open road testing. Though both the front and back of the car were covered with vinyl sheeting, the shape and lines of the car make it obvious that it closely resembles the Challenger concept car.

Official introduction of the car has already been set for February 6, 2008 at the Chicago Auto show. Prices are expected to start at about $31,000 for the base V-6 model. Hemi-equipped R/T models will likely be closer to $50,000 and a convertible version of the car is also planned for later introduction.

I AGREE WITH TANGO, EVEN IF THE CHALLEGER TURNED OUT TO BE A SUPERIOR CAR IT REALLY WOULDN’T MATTER AT ALL. THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IS JUST TOO GREAT. WHAT A BLUNDER THAT MIGHT TURN OUT TO BE BY THOSE IN CONTROL. THAT WOULD BE TOO BAD, I WOULD LOVE THE COMPETITION. YOU REALLY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COMPARE THEM AT ALL WHEN YOU CONSIDER PRICE.........

Chrysler had better adjust those prices. They can’t work. Ford and Chevy will undercut those prices and tear this otherwise nice car to shreds. A 2007 V6 Mustang starts out at US$19,250 but can be had for less than that at times. Pricing the Challenger in the low 30s putting it head to head with V8 Mustangs. In fact, according to Yahoo, the V8 GT Premium Convertible starts life at US$31,700. That’s the highest in the list.
