Thomas and James from ‘Throttle House’ brought two muscle cars – a Dodge Demon and a Shelby Super Snake Widebody based on the Mustang – to the drag strip. Both of them come with supercharged V-8s and make over 1,600 horses combined. Do you have your money on the Super Snake or the Demon?

How Do The Muscle Cars Fare Against Each Other?

Let’s get the specs out of the way first. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an automatic gearbox.

Here, too, only the rear wheels are powered. It can make up to 840 horses with the right fuel, but in this race, both were filled with 94 Octane liquid gold.

Not A Good Day For The Shelby Super Snake

In the first race, they were off the line together before the Shelby Super Snake took the lead. But, it lasted for barely a couple of seconds before the Dodge Demon went ahead and eventually went on to win the race.

The Super Snake hit a bit of a snafu after the first race and they decided to let the car cool down. They restarted again, but with the scare that the car had entered limp mode. A rolling race was attempted next, but the result was the same. The Demon won this time as well.

A third race was attempted, but the Mustang refused to compete as it threw up the service sign again. The side skirt was cracked on both sides from the torque on the unibody. It was apparently fine before the race began, but seemed to have cracked after the first round. This could’ve been the reason and was cited in the video. But, the point is no other race could be conducted post this. So, it’s a 2-0 win for the Dodge Demon.
