Hoonigan returns with another “Hoonigan vs the world” episode, where Lia Block – Ken Block’s, 14-year-old daughter races some pretty epic cars, in the Hoonicorn Mustang. This time, she’s racing a 2018 Wolf GB08 TSC-LT. One relies on power while the other on lightness. One thing both cars have in common is that both cars have conquered Pikes Peak.

1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V2 RTR

You know the car, but we have to do this. Ken Block’s beast is powered by a 410 cubic-inch (6.7-liter), twin-turbo V-8 that puts down 1,400 horsepower and 1,250 pound-feet (1,695 Nm). Moreover, that goes to all four wheels through a Sadev, six-speed sequential gearbox. The car itself weighs 2,998 pounds (1,360 kg). It has already slain cars like the Tesla Model S Plaid, a twin-turbo Ferrari F12, and even an NHRA C6 Corvette, but can it win this one?

2018 Wolf GB08 TSC-LT

The Wolf is being driven by professional racer and hill climb champion Robin Shute. He and his Wolf have actually been on Hoonigan before when they won against a Lamborghini Huracan. It’s powered by a Honda K20 engine, which has been bored out to 2.1 liters. The engine has been fully built and features a BorgWarner EF8370. The setup is good for 650 horsepower, which hare sent to the rear wheels through a Sadev, six-speed sequential gearbox, with paddle-shifters. The car has a curb weight of just 1,300 pounds (590 kg), making even the Hoonicorn look like a heavyweight.

The Races

Hoonicorn has more than double the power but also weighs more than twice as much. On the other hand, Wolf’s aggressive aero may hinder its performance at the second half of the stretch.

Round one, as always, is a heads-up race, at 1,000 feet. It could have been the cold tires, but Lia and the Hoonicorn rocketed ahead of the Wolf and stayed there until the finish.

Round two was a rolling race from about 30 mph (48 mph). The Hoonicorn no longer has the grip advantage and Wolf takes the lead. Lia starts catching up towards the finish line, but it’s too little too late. Wolf takes one back.

Round three is another rolling race. But this time, it looks like they are starting from a higher speed (they don’t tell us). The Wolf couldn’t rely on its weight advantage this time and the Mustang went ahead. Robin says he “f***ed up a shift”, but a loss due to a driver error is still a loss, so Hoonicorn takes another win.
