Daniel Abt staged a drag race between a Lamborghini Huracan STO and a BMW M140i. It seems like an odd combination, but the BMW is tuned and makes a lot more power than the Huracan
The BMW M140i comes with a 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder mill. This example features a reworked turbocharger, and a new fuel pump and intake. Courtesy of this, it puts out 690 horses and 686 pound-feet of torque. Also, it has an AWD system
The Lamborghini Huracan STO is powered by a 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated V-10 that pumps out 631 horses and 417 pound-feet of torque. The rear wheels are powered by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox
The first round was a standing quarter-mile race. The BMW rocketed off the line and beat the Lambo comfortably. It took 10.55 seconds to complete the quarter-mile distance, whereas the Huracan took 11.08 seconds
All the races hereon were 800 meters (approx. half-mile). The BMW’s launch control got canceled. The driver gave up just before the finish line since it was trailing anyway. The BMW took 19.73 seconds to 800 meters and the Lambo took 17.06 seconds
The Bimmer was back to its winning ways in the third race. It finished the 800-meter sprint in 16.71, whereas the Huracan took 16.93 seconds
They took part in one last drag race, which the BMW won once again. The times recorded, however, were different. It completed the 800-meter run in 16.9 seconds compared to the Lamborghini’s 16.88 seconds
The last round was the roll race from 60 kph in second gear. The Lamborghini had a better kickdown, but once the BMW’s turbos kicked in, it was unstoppable. It flew past the STO to add another win to its tally. No times were recorded here, though
