For all of the attention that the Mercedes CLA-Class and GLA-Class received during their respective launches, the two models have more than lived up to the hype, becoming Mercedes-Benz’s two-best selling models in no time. The popularity of both models is now being rewarded in the form of the AMG Performance Studio Package that Mercedes is introducing at the Detroit Auto Show for both the CLA and [GLA.

The upgrades included in the new package are most of the cosmetic variety, but they do help enhance the sporty appearance of the CLA and GLA, specifically those models offered in either Night Black or Cosmos Black paint finishes. One of the more prominent features included in the package is the Matte Graphite Grey sport stripes, which adds not only adds a racing look to the coupe crossover, but more importantly, it also sets the model apart from the standard models.

Toss in a few more cosmetic components like yellow highlights to the front bumper, mirrors, side first, and rear diffuser and a new set of matte black light alloy wheels with its own yellow accents and you have a package that succeeds in elevating the stylish appeal of both the GLA and the CLA.

Interior upgrades area also included in the AMG Performance Studio Package. True to its theme, yellow accents are the prevailing theme in the cabin, including splashes of the color on the seats, dashboard, and door panels.

The package does come at a cost, but Mercedes has yet to say the price tag. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to get a hold of the numbers as the German automaker plans to offer the AMG Performance Studio Package once the updated GLA hits the market later this year.

This is a good dress up for your Mercedes GLA and CLA

Mercedes struck gold when it introduced the GLA-Class and CLA-Class into the market. Not only did both models offer the German automaker’s trademark style and class, it also came with a price tag that was affordable for customers who would’ve otherwise been priced out of models like the C-Class and GLE Coupe.

The results have been impressive for Mercedes and the sales success of both models is likely a big reason why the German automaker was confident enough to introduce the AMG Performance Studio Package for both models. Think about it. What’s a good way to get more people interested in the GLA-Class and CLA-Class? An extra styling package probably ranks right up there as a great way to do it.

The package itself is appealing in that it offers just enough upgrades to make the models stand out without getting too excessive on the changes. The racing stripe, in particular, is a great touch to add more sportiness to their looks and the yellow accents make for a great combination with the black body colors of the vehicles.

The only downside is that the package doesn’t come with any power improvements, but I’m guessing that wouldn’t be too much of a big deal for owners of either model. There are other means to get that anyway. But as far as cosmetic upgrades go, the AMG Performance Studio Package is as good as it gets for owners of the GLA-Class and CLA-Class, provided of course that Mercedes offers it at a reasonable price.
