Lots of unintended wobbles and spins in this video

For those who haven’t had the chance to drive in snow, it can get really tricky if you’re not used it. Take it from somebody who’s spun out a few times in the stuff. However, I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to drive on a racetrack in the snow, especially if that racetrack is the Nürburgring.

To be fair, a lot of the drivers in this compilation video from the recently held Nordschleife tourist rides seem to be doing good jobs at it. Some actually look like pros navigating their cars around the slippery track. But then there are those that end up losing control of their cars similar to what I’d probably be doing if I were behind the wheel. It really doesn’t take a lot to get the cars to wobble considering how slippery the track is. Some of the cars did end up in that precarious situation but most of them managed to regain control of their cars quickly.

If anything, this video paints a pretty clear picture on how difficult it is to be drive at high speeds when Mother Nature isn’t cooperating. I get the excitement of doing it, but if it were up to me, I’d leave my car in the garage, even if it comes at the cost of what looks to be a fun event.

Automotive Aftermarket Expert - kirby@topspeed.com
Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More
