This time, it’s the Audi R8 V10 Spyder’s turn after DTM champ Mattias Ekström tested the supercar out on a parking lot. The video is about as close to a demonstration of the R8 Spyder’s out-of-this-world capabilities as you can watch anywhere. Given that the car could run a 0-100km/h time of just 4.1 seconds, it was clear that Ekstrom wanted to give it a go and as soon as he was given instructions on how to perform the 7-step Launch Control system, he blasts off with the R8 Spyder’s monster engine roaring like a ferocious animal that was just released from its cage.
We wait most of our lives to be given an invitation to play with a supercar of the R8 Spyder’s stature so you can imagine our envy watching Ekstrom – who, incidentally, was also given a free test run on the coupe version of the R8 – free reigns of the R8 in an underground parking lot.
We’ll settle for watching it – for now. But we’re still hoping that one day, we can get behind the wheel of a car like the R8 Spyder and see how fast and powerful it is first-hand.
