The Need for Speed racing video game has come a long way since the first instalment was launched back in 1994. The 24th version of the game, Need for Speed Heat, was introduced in 2019 with incredible graphics and a long list of vehicles, including the latest supercars and many classics.

But many gearheads are still nostalgic about classic instalments such as Hot Pursuit (1998) and Porsche Unleashed (2000). If you're one of them, we have good news: EA just remastered Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and it's coming out in November 2020.

What is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit?

Introduced in 1998, it's the third installment of the iconic racing game.

This mode allowed the player to race against a single opponent on a road scattered with police cars. It also included a challenge in which the player drives a police car to pursue and stop racers before they complete a race. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was followed by a sequel, called Hot Pursuit 2, in 2002. In 2010, EA introduced yet another Hot Pursuit version with extra cars, extra features, a free roam mode, and Autolog, which tracked player progress and recommended events to play. Autolog also included a Facebook-style wall allowing players to post comments and photos while playing.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is an upgraded version of the latest edition, from 2010.

What's new in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered?

Like any remastered game, Hot Pursuit takes advantage of the modern hardware and graphics. Everything looks better, there's an updated photo mode and new achievements, and it carries over with the popular Autolog feature. Different frame rates are available depending on what platform you'll play the game on and it's even available in 4K. The revisited game will support cross-platform multiplayer sessions so you can play with your friends no matter what system they're on.

The list includes more than 70 vehicles, mostly sports cars and supercars from brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Dodge, Ford, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, McLaren, and Porsche. Most regular cars are also available as Police interceptors.

You’ll be able to play the racing video game on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting November 6th and on Nintendo Switch starting November 13th.
