If you’re a Porsche enthusiast or a restomods enthusiast, and you’ve never heard of Evomax, then you’ve been missing out. It is a relatively new company that follows a philosophy similar to that of Singer in which it modernizes and upgrades Porsche 964 Turbos. The company now offers four different models, with the latest being the Targa, but what’s more important is how the company proves just how much is truly possible with the 964 generation of the Porsche 911.

Evomax 911 – Four Flavors, Amazing in Every Way

German company Evomax offers the 911 Max11, Max11 Turbo, Max Classic, and now the Max Targa. Each one is designed to serve a different purpose, but all are equally awesome and equally impressive. The first model the company launched was the Max11. It features the 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six (and the six-speed manual transmission) from a 997-gen Porsche 911 Cup car. It pumps out some 460 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and revs all the way up to 8,760 rpm.

As a point of comparison, the stock 964 911 Carrera 4 was good for just 247 horsepower while the 964 911 Turbo offered up 360 horsepower, so this is a big upgrade in itself. The Max11 also comes with fully adjustable coilover suspension and upgraded brakes to help keep the extra power in check. Parts of the body have also been replaced with those made from carbon fiber and Kevlar to not only save weight but also improve safety. A lightweight titanium exhaust system rounds out the entire package.

The Max11 Turbo and Max Classic follow a similar recipe, though the Max11 Turbo has the 3.6-liter turbocharged flat-six from a 996-gen 911 Turbo, and it puts out 620 horsepower at 6,500 rpm with a 6,750 rpm redline – again, a huge improvement over the 864 Turbo’s 360 horsepower output. This model is also only available with a six-speed manual transmission. For the purists out there, the Max Classic has a 993-gen that’s been reworked up to 3.8-liters of displacement and now delivers 330 horsepower at 6,500 rpm through a five-speed manual transmission. The Max11 Turbo and Max Classic also have the carbon fiber and Kevlar exterior body panels, titanium exhaust, coilover suspension, and upgraded brakes.

Finally, we have the company’s latest creation: the Evomax Targa. It’s essentially based on the same recipe as the Max11, so it comes standard with a 997 Cup engine that delivers 460 horsepower. You can, however, ask Evomax to throw in the 620-horsepower engine from the Max11 Turbo or the tamer 330-horsepower engine from the Max Classic if you want something a little different. All models do feature upgraded interiors, however, this aspect is left up to the customer’s specification as Evomax will pretty much do whatever you ask it seems.

All of this said, don’t expect to see too many Evomax 911s on the road. There is apparently a limitation of just 99 examples of each model, at least for now, and there’s no word on pricing. My guess is that, even with supplying your own donor car, you’re going to pay a very pretty penny when everything is said and done. Worth it? You bet your ass it’ll be worth it.
