The BMW M4 CSL is all set to debut on May 20 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. As is with any new release, the company tries to hype it as much as possible. BMW did the same by releasing a new video talking about the M4 CSL for over four minutes. But, it’s not just the company hyping the much-anticipated car for you. Our spy photographers are doing the same, and dare I say, they’re doing a pretty good job.

The M4 CSL has been spotted in the past when we saw the camouflaged example’s exterior and a vague shot of the interior. Now, however, the photographers have managed to catch the interior in all its glory, and it reveals a lot of interesting details about the “Coupe Sport Leichtbau”.

No Unwanted Shenanigans

The interior, thankfully, isn’t a high-tech, sophisticated one. You don’t get the fancy big touchscreen or the iDrive 8 setup here. It makes sure your focus and attention are where they should be – on enjoying the engine and swerving the beast in the corners. You’ll also find a lot of carbon fiber parts all around the cabin. There are M and CSL badging as well. A lot of red accents are present to add to the sporty vibe. Another thing that gets confirmed is that the M4 CSL will be mated to an automatic gearbox.

You can also see unique bucket seats here. But, peep behind them and you’ll find that there are no rear seats! It must make some of you happy that you won’t have to carry extra people and give them joy rides in your car. That said, you’ll probably have to leave your kids at home too! But, that doesn’t mean you can stuff your baggage back there. No sir. There is a sticker that clearly mentions luggage isn’t welcome here either.

The M4 Hit The Gym

On the outside, we’ve spotted the sticky Michelin Cup 2 tires measuring 275/35 at the front and 285/30 at the rear. If BMW has opted for these track-focused tires, you know they mean business. The rubber is mounted on 19- and 20-inch wheels at the front and back, respectively. The hot black wheels come with the 50 Jahre BMW M logo center caps. Apart from this, we also get a good look at the carbon fiber ducktail spoiler as well. You can spot red CSL logos on the side of the spoiler lip.

Speaking of its design otherwise, it is a jacked-up, aggressive M4. The automaker teased it recently with yellow DRLs.

You’ll get a revised front bumper, bigger front splitter, more winglets, and a beefier rear spoiler and diffuser. The exhaust system will feature titanium end pipes. It will sit lower than the standard M4, too. Expect some carbon fiber parts as well for weight reduction. With the rear seats gone, we expect the M4 CSL to be at least 200 pounds lighter than the standard M4.

It will retain the same 3.0-liter, straight-six with twin turbos, but pumped up to make more power. Figures in the ballpark of 550 horsepower wouldn’t be a bad guesstimate. This will be a boost of around 40 horses over the M4’s 503 horses.

The ‘CSL’ moniker makes a comeback after nearly two decades, so expect the M4 CSL to arrive with much pomp and show. It will debut at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on May 20.
