Codemaster’s EGO game engine has been reworked to provide more realistic physics and improved feedback, as well as vastly improved graphics — not that previous games were lacking in that department, but the more-polished textures and new wet-weather particle effects look astounding. F1 2015 will also offer a voice-recognition function that will allow you to yell at your team engineer (aka your TV) when you need new tires or a weather update.

The problem with annual game franchises is that games aren’t so much completely new, as they are an iteration of the previous title. A year isn’t a very long in terms of game development, which is a glacial process at best. But, with the move to next-gen consoles, Codemasters has reworked every aspect of a franchise that always offered a challenging yet rewarding experience.

We’ll be getting our hands on F1 2015 very soon for a full review.
