• FAB DESIGN modifies SLR McLaren

FAB DESIGN, a Swiss-based custom design company, took a stab at fine-tuning an SLR McLaren and it is nothing short of jaw-dropping.

The model, which they’re billeting as ‘Desire’ veers away from the standard design elements of the original SLR McLaren to make it stand out in its own right. Both the front and the rear apron of the car have been drastically altered, making it stealthier than the original. Likewise, the people at FABS also widened the body panels, and added new side skirts, To top it off, they also built a rear spoiler to complete the makeover.

We’re telling you, if Batman needed another Batmobile, he should seriously consider giving these guys a call.

FAB didn’t just end their customizing ways with the exterior, either. They also took time to give ‘Desire’ a spike in performance, increasing the car’s power output to 740 hp with a maximum torque of 1080Nm, giving the car enough bite to jump out of the line to 60mph speeds in just a shade over 3.5 seconds.

FAB DESIGN sure knows how to make something out of an already impressive supercar. The company, however, only made 15 models – all of which have already been bought – so if you were planning to get yourself a ‘Desire’ of your own, well, you’re out of luck.

What you can do is stare at these photos for as long as you like.

At least you won’t have to spend a dime to do that.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

The wing makes it look gaudy. The rest of the car looks menacing. Nice.

Save the body kits for the STIs and Skylines The SLR is a gorgeous, high-profile exotic that should be appreciated for the work of art that it is... not ruined by tuners. This kit doesn’t make your car any more special - it just makes you look like a stupid kid with more money than you know what to do with.
