There is always a lot of talk and speculation about new Ferraris. Which makes sense, considering that Fiat->ke30, the owners of Ferrari->ke252, are currently in a big product shake-up. It also helps that Ferrari->ke252 has a huge history of amazing performance cars.

Yet, after reports foreshadowed replacements for the 599->ke395, 612->ke396, and the Enzo->ke389, Ferrari has been silent on any lightweight performance version of the 458 Italia.

That hasn’t stopped people from trying to speculate though. Motor Trend claims to have good knowledge that a light weight, more powerful 458->ke3479 will arrive in 2013, taking the place of the 430 Scuderia.

Not much else is known and we probably won’t have any news for quite some time. We can guess that the car will be mostly aluminum, as Ferrari plans on sticking with it, rather than go all carbon fiber like the competition.

The Enzo’s replacement should not be considered a mainstream model like the high-powered 458. Motor Trend thinks that a twin-turbocharged, direct-injection V8 that will power the car will produce around 700 horsepower with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It will most likely have all the latest gizmos that we find on the FXX->ke407.
