American oil company Pennzoil isn’t the type of company you’d normally associate as a source of quality films, but you’d be surprised at what it’s been able to create in the past. Remember the Airlift Drift video featuring the Dodge Challenger Hellcat? That was one pretty sick “short film”. It was so sick, in fact, that a “prequel” was released, and that was incredible too. Now, Pennzoil has brought us this doozy of a video.

It’s called “Joyride” and it features a car that not even the Challenger Hellcat can hold a candle to. As awesome as the American muscle car was in a starring role in the Airlift Drift film, Pennzoil decided to go Italian for this film, hence the presence of the all-new Ferrari 488 GTB.

The film mixes elements from some of the most famous car-related movies in film history and puts them together to create a film about a group of joyriders who care about nothing but seeking the ultimate thrill with some of the best exotics in the game today. Seriously, there’s some Transporter in there. There’s also some Need for Speed in there too and a little bit of the Italian Job thrown in for good measure.

It’s a cool movie to watch if you have a few minutes of your time to spare. Just be forewarned, it ends with the three worst words any film can end with.

“To be continued…”

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More
