We already know the Ferrari 599XX succeeded at attaining the world record, lapping the Nurburgring at 6 min 58.16 seconds, but how would everyone like photos of the car in action as it was doing it? Okay, we can’t guarantee that these pictures were taken on the lap that made history, but we can guarantee that these spy shots were taken as the Ferrari was hotlapping the Nurburgring->ke999 on April 21, 2010. The timing just seems too perfect.

The incredible record time was thanks to the 599XX’s V12 engine spitting out 700hp at 9,000RPM and the crazy amount of times the Ferrari hit the Wind Tunnel on its test sessions. These test sessions helped to improve the car’s aerodynamics and that, as well as the Acti-Flow system which increases downforce and cuts drag, transformed the Ferrari 599XX into the extreme track car it is today. Props to Ferrari’s engineers for spending some much time and effort perfecting the record-breaking sportscar.
