The Italian super car builder Ferrari has just announced that the 599XX that was seen at the Geneva Motor Show in concept form will make it into production, even if it is limited. Spy photographers recently caught the track day special testing in Maranello.

Compared to the vehicle that was unveiled at the show in March, the car caught testing included a few changes to the air intakes and vents as well as the rear wing. The production version will feature the latest F1 derived technologies from the Scuderia Ferrari Team, including something called High Performance Dynamic Concept which is an electronic control system that maximizes the car's mechanical potential in order to achieve the lowest lap times on the track as possible.

The concept 599XX's engine now delivers 700 HP at 9,000 RPM, up a few ponies from the regular production version. The engine is mated to a new gearbox that is capable of swapping cogs in as little as 60 milliseconds, just what the doctor ordered when battling on track.
