We're taking a quick break from the impending maelstrom that is the Frankfurt Motor Show to introduce a pretty cool concept study from the minds of some very impressionable designers from Italy.

Called the Ferrari->ke252 EGO Concept - note that EGO stands for 'Emotional Generation One' and not the act of self importance - the Ferrari design study is being envisioned as a lightweight compact supercar that's ready to hit streets in 2025.

As is the case with most futuristic concepts of this design nature, the Ferrari EGO comes with all the expected features of an out-of-this-world design study, including a jet-inspired cockpit, an aluminum tubular chassis, front wings and air intakes, a rear spoiler, plenty of carbon fiber details, a wrap-around windscreen and a plethora of LED taillights

Not much is known about what kind of powertrain the designers envision for this car, but they have claimed that the inspiration behind the concept comes from both the Ferrari P3 and the Ferrari P4/5.

Hats off to the minds behind the design study, including Instituto d'Arte Applicata e Design Torino graduates Salvatore Simonetti, Massimiliano Petrachi and Vincenzo Morlino and Politecnico di Milano graduate Luca Zunino.

We understand that these types of studies are more for the imagination than anything else, but what they also do is shed some much-needed light on who the future designers of the industry may be.
