Prepared to put the whole recall issue over the 458 Italia on the backburner of everyone’s minds, Ferrari will be launching a whole new set of carbon fiber options for the fiery supercar starting this summer. What better way to make consumers forget that their expensive vehicle may just about go up in flames than to offer them some carbon fiber side skirts?

The Ferrari brochure states, "The sill is made entirely in carbon fiber with the upper part painted in body color and the aerodynamic lower area in visible carbon fiber. This option is not compatible with optional outer sports sills." We thought a carbon fiber fire extinguisher was a tad more appropriate given the situation.

Along with the side skirts, Ferrari is bringing out a few more carbon fiber options including front wings, a rear diffuser, diffuser vertical fins, fog-lamps, and rear grille frames to fog your memory of the disastrous start given by the super car. But, hey, the problem is fixed and consumers can now get some extra oomph for the overall aesthetic look of the car so we guess they can be forgiven.

458 is not what a Ferrari should look like, even if everything under the aesthetics is fantastic... And lack of a 6MT option is not good for Ferrari, either.
