Ferrari World theme park’s soft opening indefinitely delayed

It’s not a great day to be a self-professed Tifosi, is it?

The long-awaited opening of the Ferrari World, which was scheduled to be today, has been indefinitely delayed as a sign of mourning over the death of Sheik Saqr bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Emir of Ras al-Khaimah.

While some fans are not too pleased with the decision made by Ferrari World’s directors, others seem to understand the sensitivity of the circumstances. If you take a look at Ferrari World’s facebook page, it is inundated with comments for and against the delay. One commenter stated, "Personally, I don’t blame them for the decision, which I am sure was the correct and respectful one" while another said, "With the height of respect to the Sheikh, it’s slightly mad to completely postpone the opening by a week at a few hours notice...."

The place looks pretty impressive... Makes the NASCAR Hall of Fame look like an outhouse. Definitely wouldn’t mind checking it out.
