The highly anticipated C8 Corvette is set to break cover next week, on July 18, but it will be at an event that GM decided to keep rather private, with a limited number of guests. The good news is that the sports car will make its public debut only a week after that, on July 27, at the Concours d'Elegance of America in Plymouth, Michigan.

Your chance to see the C8 Corvette in the metal

While we will learn everything we need to know about the new Corvette on July 18, you'll need to wait one more week for a chance to see the car in the metal. You'll be able to get close and personal with the C8 Corvette in two different locations.

On Saturday, July 27, Chevrolet will bring the new sports cat to Kerbeck Chevrolet in Atlantic City. If you're planning on going there when it happens, Kerbeck Chevrolet is located at 430 N. Albany Avennue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.

If you're not anywhere near Atlantic City, maybe it's a better idea to "meet" the C8 Corvette at the Concours d'Elegance of America, held in Plymouth, Michigan. The event takes places over the entire weekend, and it also includes a design seminar with the C8. The seminar takes place on Saturday, July 27, where Chevrolet will be talking about the design of the new Corvette.

GM's design chief will host the seminar, but he will also be joined by other executives and designers.

The C8 Corvette will be on display at the same event the next day, Sunday, July 28. Admission to the show on this day is only $35 if you buy a ticket in advance or $45 at the door. The show takes places at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth.

Stay tuned for live coverage next week

TopSpeed will attend the official unveiling event on July 18, so we'll have plenty of coverage for you. Stick around for a live report from the event, live photos of the first C8 Corvette that goes on display, as well as detailed information about the car. We'll go online with info on its features, drivetrain, and performance as soon as Chevrolet spills the beans. As always, we'll also publish a full review of the car.
