Not one to be overshadowed by the opening of the 2010 Formula One season this season, the FIA GT World Championship recently had its own launch and testing event at the Paul Ricard circuit in France.

The teams took some time to test their all-new rides in preparation for the season-opening race at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi on April 16 and 17. A couple of new additions have also been put to place for the 2010 FIA GT World Championships, including the addition of four races from all over the world – further cementing the FIA GT as an increasingly popular global racing league.

While the cars were primarily at the Paul Ricard circuit doing some testing, they nevertheless took some time off to pose for the camera in preparation for D-Day on April 16.

Cool cars. What I like about the FIA GT World Championships is that the cars used on the races are cars that can be bought and be driven in the street. Well, maybe not the same set up and tuning but compared to F1, the carts in F1 can only be driven in a game or if you make it as an F1 driver, which is not an easy thing to do.
