Fiat’s plans for making its way over to the States is in full force. Last month, Fiat announced that the company will offer a four-door version of the 500 for the US market. Now, we are hearing rumors that they will offer a 5-door variant to be called the Seicento ("600" in Italian) that will be unveiled at the end of 2011. We remember the Fiat 500’s older sibling, the 600, which, when originally designed, was not offered as a 5-door mini MPV. The Fiat 600 was known as the family version of the Fiat 500 at that time and now will incorporate a longer wheelbase and an increase in width to fit that bill better. This extra room will offer enough space for the rear seat passengers, but not enough room for their baggage unless a sliding back seat is utilized. Of course, this will probably not be top choice for a family car considering its not so spacious interior. We could call this car cute and fun, but not family oriented.

Besides these differences, the 600 will in fact be the same as the 500: a new twin gasoline Twin Air engine developing between 65 to 105 hp.

I’m not really a fan of Fiat for I think their design is kind of outdated! Just look at this car , its platform is kind of lame and the performance seems to be less powerful!

A comeback? What happened on the previous years?

The 500 and 600 is just the same in terms of performance and reliability the only difference is the space and wheelbase.

It’s about time. Sorry, but as much as those who love rotaries will defend them. They need to just be put out of their misery already.

When Fiat ended production of the model in June 2004 a top spec Sporting model would have cost about £6,500. Now it can be yours for less
than half that.

I would be grateful if someone out there could let me know why the gear actuator keeps going - Even my garage is at a loss.
