Anyone who enjoys seeing a trio of codgers slowly pestering each other to death one random broken rib and sprained wrist at a time will be delighted to hear that the remaining episode of Top Gear->ke1860 season 22 is slated to hit your TV screen sometime this summer. Hit play for a brief preview of what’s in store.

The extended episode will feature all three TG presenters in a pair of previously unreleased segments as they battle against mechanical failure, outrageous challenges, and the usual gamut of infantile pranks. It’s expected to be the final TG episode with Jeremy Clarkson.

The first segment pits the trio in the role of classic car->ke503 buffs as they set forth for adventure in a Fiat->ke30 124 Spyder, Peugeot->ke68 304 Cabriolet, and MGB GT. Expect brown beer, several breakdowns, and a car show “where everything goes wrong,” according to the TG website.

After that, Clarkson, Hammond and May are each given £250 to purchase three “high-mileage, low-quality” SUVs->ke145 to help them become “lifestyle leisure enthusiasts.” Clarkson buys a Vauxhall->ke92 Frontera, Hammond picks up a Jeep Cherokee,->ke4617 and May selects a Mitsubishi->ke58 Shogun Pinin. Challenges include a battle with the Stig’s Leisure Activity Cousin and uncomfortably high-stake penalties for the loser.

An exact airdate has yet to be confirmed. Keep it on TG for updates.

Fracas-gate has been covered to death, so let’s move on and instead talk about the Continue reading for the full story. we know and love. I was conversing about the upcoming episode with a friend recently, and he made the salient point that with each obnoxious decal on the windshield or severed cow head in the trunk, precious minutes were being shaved from the respective presenter’s life. While 22 seasons is a long time to put up with stuff like carting around a scale-model of a Spanish galleon tied to the back of a motoring bike or dodging rioting war veterans in Argentina, it’s all for our mutual benefit.

So it’s kinda sad this will probably be the last TG episode with all three amigos, but don’t despair – Clarkson’s dismissal might actually be for the best.

Hear me out.

Since fracas-gate, there have been a multitude of rumors swirling over where Clarkson will end up next. Clearly, the man needs an income to pay for all those high-powered Mercedes->ke187 models and hot meals, so it’s really just a matter of where he’ll end up next.

Some say there’s a chance all three presenters will end up starting a new show on a rival network, like ITV or Netflix, which is speculation backed by reports of secret meetings with TV execs that include old-school Clarkson friend and former TG producer Andy Wilman. Or there’s the photo Clarkson tweeted showing him, a camera, a track, and an extremely yellow Corvette Z06. Or there’s the recent column Clarkson wrote for the U.K.-based publication Top Gear, in which he states: "I have lost my baby but I shall create another. I don’t know who the other parent will be or what the baby will look like, but I cannot sit around any more organizing my photograph album."

Throw in the fact that Hammond and May have publicly stated a disinterest in continuing TG without Clarkson, and in my opinion, odds are looking good we’ll have a new motoring program with all three sometime in the future.

And I think that’s fantastic.

The old TG would continue on, either with fresh long-term presenters or a new host per episode, while we still get the same old hijinks from Clarkson, Hammond and May in the new show.

Maybe. And on that bombshell…
