As is the usual case with new Corvette models, Chevrolet will auction the first production Corvette Z06, with all the proceeds going to charity. Of course, the event will take place at the Barrett-Jackson's auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 29th, 2022.

Whomever will win the auction though, will not be able to drive the Z06 home, as the car has not been built yet! He or she will have to wait until the summer of 2022 when the car will actually go into production.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 is powered by the the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine in the world: a 5.5-liter V-8 that delivers a total of 670 horsepower and 8,400 rpm, 460 pound-feet of torque at 6,300 rpm. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 195 mph.

Customers will have to choose between 12 exterior paint options and seven interior colors and wheel packages. There is also a long list of options to choose from, but the must have are the Z07 Performance Package, the carbon fiber-wrapped steering wheel and the Adrenaline Red interior.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 is expected to have a starting price of around $90,000. Of course, the first production version is expected to sell for a lot more than that. Just to help you make an idea, the first production version Corvette C8 was auctioned for $3 million at Barrett Jackson’s 2020 Scottsdale Auction. The car was bought by Rick Hendrick - owner of the NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports and co-owner of JR Motorsports and founder of the Hendrick Automotive Group. He is also the one that bought the first 2022 Acura NSX Type S for $1.1 million back in August 2021. So, who knows, maybe he will also be the proud owner of the first Corvette Z06.
