When GM unveiled the Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition back in March they announced that it would be limited to only 500 units and that the first unit would be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach.

While prices for this special edition haven't been announced yet, the first unit was auctioned for an amazing $297,000. Of course, if our memories serve us correctly, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 that was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson for $1million had an MSRP of only $99K. Keeping with that last comment, we would like to reiterate what it was auctioned for: $1,000,000.00. That's a lot of zeroes. The 2007 Barrett-Jackson auctioned off the Corvette Sting Ray for $600,000.00. Considering the winners of this year's Corvette ZO6 Carbon Limited Edition received the car plus the opportunity to tour GM’s Performance Build Center in Michigan and the opportunity to watch the Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition travel down the assembly line in Kentucky, we figure they got one hell of a deal.

The limited edition will be distinguished by Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with specific dark gray metallic calipers, black 20-spoke 19-inch front/20-inch rear wheels, black headlamps and mirrors, a ZR1-style body color spoiler, body color door handles, carbon fiber raised hood, and black carbon fiber rockers and splitter. It will be available in only two colors: Inferno Orange and the all-new Supersonic Blue.
