Despite what many people have said about the Ferrari FF, a lot of people have taken a liking to the sports car. So much so, in fact, that it has already been sold out for 2011. If rumors circulating the 599 successor end up holding any water, elements from the controversial FF will find their way into the new GT model which is expected to be unveiled next year.

The Ferrari 599 GT will use the same gasoline direct injection V12 used in the FF, but it will be tricked to deliver an impressive 700 HP, up from the FF’s 600 HP. Four-wheel drive won’t be transferring over however as Ferrari has decided to keep the current RWD configuration. The company itself confirmed in a previous statement that an AWD system won’t be used on Ferrari’s ’ultimate’ sporting machines.

Going back to the Ferrari FF, the next version will focus on a reduction of total weight, but this doesn’t mean it will get carbon fiber elements: "The history of aluminum is not finished yet and full carbon fiber structures are still not economically viable for build volumes of more than two or three cars per day."

the v12 engine technology for this car produced an impressive power output! And I guess it would be a selling point of this vehicle! Carbon fiber materials definitely makes the car lighter then its speed performance will boost into an impressive amount!

I like the detailing of this car, the red paint job seems perfect on the car. And I think the AWD system makes the car to perform in high speed performance.

Well, come to think of it, it would also be a possibility. They did come out with the FF when we least thought that they would release a four wheel drive vehicle.

Hmm, I am wondering if Ferrari would actually go and release hybrid 599. this might seem a bit far fetched, but considering the trend nowadays, who knows?

No, they aren’t going to another FF with the 599. in fact, they have ditched the 4WD system in favor of the traditional setup. Thus, this will be your regular Ferrari supercar.

Yes, I do agree that Ferrari FF has an outstanding performance because of V12 technology. However, I do hope that 599 wouldn’t copy either the package of the platform of the FF.

So they’re actually moving ahead with the new 599. well that’s really a good news, I was really looking forward to this ever since I heard the first rumors.

Well, it is actually quite reasonable for Ferrari to ditch the AWD in favor of the rear wheel drive configuration. For one, these sports cars are unlikely to go off road, which makes the AWD pretty useless.
