Last year at Paris Motor Show, Ford unveiled the Iosis-X concept and announced that a small off-roader inspired by it will go into production. Although Ford didn’t announced a name for its upcoming model, spy photographers allready caught it on testing.

A front-wheel-drive model, the Focus 4x4 will be powered by a range of engines including 1.6-, 1.8- and 2.0-litre petrol units as well as Ford’s excellent 2.0-litre TDCi diesel. Also Ford will produce a more powerful version, powered by a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo engine found in the S-Max and Focus ST.

The 4x4 Ford will shares its wheelbase with the five-door Focus and will be the next major unveiling to use Ford’s ’kinetic design’ language.

The Focus 4x4 will be on sale early next year, starting at around £18,000.
