Halo fans now have a new vehicle to lust after as Ford, Xbox, 343 Industries, and Galpin Auto Sports come together to build the F-150 Halo Sandcat. This beast is a one-off build that follows the same design cues as other vehicles used by Halo’s United Nations Space Command, including the mighty Warthog.

The truck started life as a production 2015 F-150 Lariat SuperCrew fitted with the FX4 off-road package and the powerful 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. It was Galpin Auto Sports that turned the truck into the Sandcat, swapping several of its stock components for beefier aftermarket parts and dressing its exterior with bumpers, a light bar, and an olive drab wrap.

First the truck received a new suspension system front and rear courtesy of Addictive Desert Designs. The company’s Baja XTR package widens the truck a full seven inches and allows the front suspension to travel 12 inches. Custom-built control arms and heavy duty Fox shocks manage off-road terrain with ease. ADD then caged the cargo box and bolted on tall Fox shocks to give the truck a full 18 inches of rear wheel travel. The stock rear axle is also replaced with a Full Floater from Currie Enterprises. Thick fender flairs help cover the mud-terrain tires mounted on bead-lock wheels.

Beyond the suspension, custom steel bumpers were also added. The front bumper features a recovery winch and LED lightbar while the rear bumper houses two LED light pods and utilizes the stock receiver hitch. In the bed, the truck features a custom headache rack with a second LED lightbar, along with slots for three Jerry cans for fuel.

The Sandcat is designated M552 for its UNSC service and pays homage to Ford’s P552 internal codename for the 2015 F-150. The truck will be on display at the Electronic Entertainment Expo being held from June 16 through 18. It will also make appearances leading up to the October 27 launch of Halo 5: Guardians.

The Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat is a one-of-a-kind vehicle inspired by Halo’s United Nations Space Command vehicle design. It will be on display at E3 2015.

Based on the all-new Ford F-150, the toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 ever, F-150 Halo Sandcat is special enough to have been officially designated the M552 codename by the United Nations Space Command – closely matching F-150’s official Ford codename, P552.

The F-150 Halo Sandcat started as a 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 with 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine and FX4 off-road package. To turn the truck into the Sandcat, Galpin Auto Sports added an arsenal of modifications to give it a United Nations Space Command militaristic style that Halo fans will instantly recognize. The F-150 Halo Sandcat starts with Addictive Desert Designs’ Baja XTR off-road conversion kit, which includes custom FOX Racing shocks, Deaver leaf springs, a Currie full floater rear axle, ADD fenders, side steps, a chase rack and 17-inch wheels with off-road tires to go along with a full custom Halo body wrap. Inside, there’s an Xbox One custom gaming system with displays mounted in the rear head restraints.
