It’s a one-off creation and you’re going to have to be lucky to win it from Ford

The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is limited enough as it is, but an even more limited edition version from within its ranks is set to be raffled off this November. The model in question is a Mustang Bullitt that’s dressed up in a Kona Blue paint finish. It’s the only one of its kind in the world, and getting a chance to own one involves more luck than it does having deep pockets.

The Kona Blue Mustang Bullitt is the only one of its kind to wear that distinctive paint finish.

The first thing you need to know about the Kona Blue Ford Mustang is that other than it’s exclusive paint finish, this is still a model that can be described as a “standard” Ford Mustang Bullitt. It doesn’t have any power advantages — its output of 480 horsepower from a 5.0-liter V-8 is the same as the rest of the 2019 Mustang Bullitts — nor does it have any added aerodynamic bits that make it agiler on the road. Everything about the Kona Blue Mustang Bullitt’s power and performance capabilities is exactly what you’re going to see from other 2019 Mustang Bullitts that Ford builds.

The model is still considered a one-off because, well, it actually is. Whereas other 2019 Mustang Bullitts are available in either Highland Green or Shadow Black, the Kona Blue Mustang Bullitt is the only one of its kind to wear that distinctive paint finish. In addition to the one-off exterior paint, the unique Mustang Bullitt also comes with blue accent stitching in the cabin, as well as a set of grey wheels, another exclusive touch relative to the black wheels that all other Mustang Bullitts will sit on. These cosmetic changes are the extent of what you can expect from the Kona Blue Mustang. It may not look like much in the context of being a one-off creation, but the exclusivity attached to this model is a big reason why Ford is raffling it off. The proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Ford and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation plan to sell up to 60,000 tickets for the raffle.

If you’re interested in winning the Kona Blue Ford Mustang, you’re going to have to buy tickets ahead of the prize drawing, which is scheduled to take place on November 13. Tickets are already available online, and you can find them at www.onecause.com/jdrfbullitt at $10 per piece. Ford and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation plan to sell up to 60,000 tickets for the raffle.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first time Ford has used a 2019 Mustang Bullitt as a reward of sorts for a worthy cause. The first-production Mustang Bullitt was sent to a Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona earlier this year where it fetched a whopping $300,000 for the Boys Republic, a school and treatment community for troubled young people. No less than Steve McQueen himself graduated from the same institution back in 1946.
