The packages offer cosmetic, software, and hardware upgrades

Ford Ranger owners must be happy with all the packages available for the truck lately. A couple of months back, Ford introduced a package that gave the Ranger extra horses and torque. Even Roush started offering a suspension kit for the newer models of the truck. Now, Ford has decided to introduce three new factory off-road packages for the mid-size pickup truck. These kits will be available for the 2019 and 2020 models and offer cosmetic, software, and hardware upgrades.

What Off-Road Packages Are There For the Ford Ranger?

All the three kits that Ford is offering for the Ranger come standard with an off-road leveling kit, FOX Shocks, new 17-inch Dyno Gray wheels, and Ford Performance graphics on the bed and windshield. Here’s how each of the packages is equipped:

Recently, Ford Performance has introduced a performance calibration for the Ranger that gave it an additional 45 horses and 60 pound-feet of torque. Now Ford is offering the same boost in the Performance Level 2 package. However, the performance calibration kit also includes a high-flow K&N air filter and a Pro Cal 4 tool which is used to install the calibration via the OBD 2 port. An optimized shift schedule for the transmission is also included. Ford sells this performance calibration package for $825.

Ford has been stressing on aftermarket accessories even more lately. Last year, Jeep said that a customer spends an average of $800 on accessories on the Wrangler and $1,000 on the Gladiator. The Blue Oval is slowly catching up, with Ranger owners spending an average of $650 on accessories in 2019.

Ford’s Growing Customization Options and Business

The Ford Ranger nameplate is positioned to lead Ford’s new accessories product strategy — which will expand even further with the introduction of the all-new Ford Bronco utility — to focus on greater choice in the catalog and a seamless personalization journey for customers. On average, customers added approximately $650 worth of Ford accessories to each Ranger pickup sold in the U.S. in 2019 – the nameplate’s first year returned to the U.S. market.

“The success we’ve seen with Ranger’s personalization is a combination of customer and dealer enthusiasm for Ford-backed accessory options,” said Cin. “Our truck customers don’t need to drive their all-new vehicle off the lot over to an aftermarket outfitter, we are creating a smoother, more integrated experience right here with your Ford Dealership.”
