Owners purchasing a brand new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor now have the chance to learn how to properly use their trucks from the folks to built it. It’s an expanded part of Ford Performance Racing School that will host Raptor owners for a one-day event with both classroom and driving time. This ongoing course is just the latest offered by Ford Performance. It joins the courses for the Mustang GT350 and Focus ST.

Best of all – the program is free!

Of course, there’s always a catch. First and most obvious, you have to purchase a 2017 or newer Ford F-150 Raptor. Second, students are responsible for their travel and hotel expenses. Everything else involving the daylong event is covered, including breakfast, lunch, safety equipment, and Ford-owned Raptor trucks.

The program’s technical name is the Raptor Assault and will take place outside Ford Performance’s Utah Motorsports Campus, just west of Salt Lake City. The facility is home to the Ford Performance Racing School, which is a track-based operation. Participants in the Raptor Assault will even have the option of purchasing a second day – one that focuses on track driving using Mustang GT.

The Raptor Assault’s classroom time will focus on the Raptor’s features, including its six drive modes and capabilities. The driving portion consists of rock crawling, Baja runs, high-speed driving, side-hilling, hill descending, and braking.

Dan McKeever, president of the Ford Performance Racing School, said, “We’re looking forward to the excitement, training and thrills Raptor Assault will deliver to owners of the 2017 truck. The new Raptor is an incredible truck, and our facility is the perfect venue to demonstrate just what it can do off-road. Our instructors can help anyone take their driving expertise to the next level – whether the person is a beginner or an experienced off-roader.”

Participants have options to bring a guest along, as well. Ford has created a separate website for the Raptor driving school, appropriately located at www.RaptorAssault.com. There, Raptor owners can enroll and book a class date.
