Revived after a nine-year absence, the Ford Mustang Bullitt based on the sixth-generation pony car arrived just in time to celebrate 50 years since the iconic "Bullitt" movie was launched. It's been two months since the coupe that pays tribute to Steve McQueen's green fastback was launched at the Detroit Auto Show and Ford finally announced pricing information. Specifically, the Mustang Bullitt retails from $46,595, not including the $900 destination and delivery charge. That's a $7,405 premium over the GT Premium model it is based on.

As a reminder, the Mustang Bullit also includes the Performance Package and boasts an understated look borrowed from the original car. There are subtle chrome accents around the unique, black grille, Torque Thrust wheels, red Brembo calipers and Dark Highland Green and Shadow Black paint options. The cabin gets a white cue ball shift knob, green accent stitching on the seats, and optional leather-wrapped Recaro sports seats. A heather leather steering wheel and a unique Bullitt welcome screen for the infotainment display come standard. The optional Bullitt Electronics Package that includes navigation, driver memory seats and mirrors, upgraded sound system, and Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert.

Power is provided by the same 5.0-liter "Coyote" V-8 engine found in the standard Mustang GT, but output increased from 460 to 480 horsepower. Torque remained unchanged at 420 pound-feet. Top speed was increased to 163 mph from the standard 155 mph. The Bullitt comes with a manual transmission as standard, but it features a number of drivetrain upgrades. There's active valve performance exhaust with new Black NitroPlate tips, a new Open Air Induction system, and an intake manifold from the Shelby GT350. The MagneRide semi-active suspension system is optional.

The new Ford Mustang Bullitt goes on sale this summer.
