BMW Z4 GT3 will have a new competitor at this year’s FIA GT3 series. The Marc VDS Racing Team has entered the race with a Mustang GT3. The Marc VDS Racing Team, together with Multimatic, will build additional cars to order, for customer race teams looking for a competitive GT3 package off the shelf. The cost of the Ford Mustang Marc VDS GT3 has yet to be confirmed.

The Mustang GT3 weighs just 1350kg and is powered by a 5.3 liter V8 engine, which produces 560BHP. These performance figures, combined with the all-new transaxle on the Ford Mustang Marc VDS GT3, guarantee that the car will be a serious contender during it’s debut season.

The first car, with the chassis number MVDS001/001, was built by the team’s project partner Multimatic in Canada before being shipped to the United Kingdom, where it underwent a successful initial shakedown test at Ford’s European test facility near Luton, Bedfordshire.

Now, we’ve seen the Ford GT share the track in Europe before, but we’ve never seen the All-American Ford Mustang cross the waters and hit the European soil with intent to race against the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Porsches scheduled to race at this event. We don’t know how the Mustang will fare against these legendary beasts, but we are unquestionably excited to find out.

This will be indeed one of the best looking Mustang that ford has released, and I think they should continue to produce this Mustang.

Well, there’s nothing to say about the mustang GT3, it’s mean to do it’s job. Driven fast and Driven Hard.

Ford wants to take the next gen Mustang global in a few years and this is a great way to introduce it to the Europeans and give Ford time to create a track winner... great for PR and marketing the brand!
