Forza Motorsports’ long history of top-shelf racing games will add another member to the family with the arrival of Forza Horizon 4. The new title will be developed by U.K.-based Playground Games. It will offer the usual stunning characteristics of past Forza titles, including over 450 cars from more than 100 licensed automakers. Forza Horizon 4 will be launched on the Xbox One and PC platforms this coming October.

The 2018 Electronics Entertainment Expo previewed a lot of exciting new video game releases that made my head spin. From Doom Eternal to Halo Infinite to Gears of War 5, there are a lot of new titles that are going to send the video game world into a frenzy. None, though, is as close to our hearts as Forza Horizon 4.

There aren’t that many details to go by at this point, but we do know that the game will be displayed in the glory of 4K at a framerate of 60 FPS on the Xbox One. We also know that as far as the game’s story is concerned, it’s going to be set in the U.K. The trailer shows as much as we see the McLaren Senna, Aston Martin Vulcan, and Jaguar F-Type in the video. All three performance cars are proudly British made.

As far as the roster of cars goes, Forza Horizon 4 will have more than 450 cars on the table from more than 100 licensed automakers. That’s likely to grow, too, after the game launches, thanks in large part to downloadable content that’s going to pop up every so often. Like past installments, the new Forza game will also feature plenty of customization options, including driver personalization and mechanical upgrades like drift suspension.

New features are also expected, including one that will allow players to own properties that can open the doors towards unlocking new content, specifically new items and features. There’s a lot that Forza Horizon 4 has to offer. It’s a good thing that the game doesn’t launch until October 2 — or September 20 for the Ultimate Edition — because that’s going to give Playground Studios enough time to work out every loose detail before it hits stores and starts eating away at our daily lives.
