As you know, Lamborghini is preparing a new supercar to replace the current Murcielago. Internally known as the "New V12", the future supercar will go on sale next year and will be priced at around $450k.

The supercar will be built on a new carbonfibre chassis and will be powered by a new 7.0-liter V12 engine, rumored to deliver between 700-720bhp. With a weight of less than 1500 kilos, the New V12 will have a power-to-weight ratio of around 470bhp per ton. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be made in 3 seconds, while top speed will go to 225 mph.

The engine will be mated to a seven-speed paddle-shift robotized manual transmission as standard with the option of a sequential seven-speed unit.

But despite all the mechanical changes, the next supercar will still be recognized as a Lamborghini: "We’re not going to throw away our design DNA just to make a statement that we’re 21st-century."
