Why it matters

It’s always a fun guessing game trying to figure out what automakers have in store for future products. In this case, we know that GM is pouring a lot of attention into its trucks, and the addition of a new name only fans the flames. Add to that the rumor of GMC’s Wrangler fighter, and this shapes up to be some pretty interesting speculation.

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept

The Chevrolet ZR2 made its debut back at the 2014 LA Auto Show and has gathered quite a bit of attention since then. Based on the Colorado, the ZR2 package adds tons of off-road goodies like remote reservoir shocks, meaty tires, a built-in winch, and steel bumpers. What’s more, the concept is the first real Colorado we’ve seen that features the upcoming 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder.

There is no official word whether GM will move the ZR2 concept into production, but we're hopeful it will happen as it would likely be a hot seller for the General.
