In between the introductions of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt and the cute little Bolt Concept, it looks like Chevrolet->ke199 teased the all-new 2016 Chevy Camaro at the Detroit Auto Show->ke222 last week. And it seemingly did so right under the noses of thousands of journalists in attendance.

During its presentation, Chevy flashed an image of five vehicles on the screen, and it just so happens that Chevy is promising to launch five new products this year. Among those is the redesigned 2016 Chevy Camaro, which CamaroNews.com used to create an interesting sketch and rendering based on Chevy’s silhouetted teaser.

Looking at these images, we’re even more confident that our renderings from last year are indicative of the new Camaro, mainly when it comes to the front end and the rear haunches. What we do know is that the next-gen Camaro will ride on the same Alpha platform as the Cadillac ATS, becoming a smaller and lighter car.

Chevrolet has not said when it plans to debut the new Camaro (or any of its other 2015 introductions), but we’re probably looking at either the New York Auto Show->ke226 in April or the LA Auto Show->ke211 in November. Seeing as how hot the muscle car market is right now, our money is on a New York debut.

As for the rest of the cars in that image, it would appear that the big car front and center is the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu->ke1034 with the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze->ke3230 to its right. Behind that sits the recently introduced 2016 Chevrolet Volt as well as a mystery small car that could very well be the 2016 Chevrolet Spark->ke3267. There is no doubt that Chevrolet is going to have a busy year in 2015.

Why it matters

Following the recent introduction of the updated 2015 Dodge Challenger and the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang, Chevrolet is on the clock to launch its smaller and lighter 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. This sketch shows that our early renderings of the sixth-gen Camaro could be dead ringers for the actual production model. We won't have to wait much longer to find out.
