Unforeseen circumstances had once sidelined the Camaro convertible and then put the project back on track for 2011. Well, General Motors spokesman Terry Rhadigan has been quoted as saying: "The convertible was never canceled. It was retimed. It will be the first quarter of 2011 for the start of production."

The result is an extra year added to the vehicle’s l=original release date, now 2 years after the coupe’s debut. Just like the hard top, the convertible will be offered with both V6 and V8 engines.
