GMA’s Robin Roberts takes Indy 500 Pace Car out for a ride in New York City

When Good Morning America host Robin Roberts was chosen to drive the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Pacecar at the 94th Indianapolis 500, she became only the second woman to be given such an honor after Elaine Irwin-Mellencamp, the wife of Indiana rocker John Mellencamp, became the first one to drive it back in 2001.

To commemorate the occasion, Indycar drive Helio Castroneves showed up at the GMA studios in New York with the Camaro SS Pacecar and officially handed over the keys to an obviously ecstatic Roberts. Not one to be able to contain her excitement, Roberts ditched the show with Castroneves for a quick run around the block on-board the Camaro SS Pace Car.

Heck, she even managed to leave some tread marks out on the road!

Super fast and expensive car for a very busy and over crowded city in USA? I guess having a fast car over the NY is useless because you can’t over speed on NY also the Traffic law is very strict specially when it comes to Speed limits.
