Few driving games have had the success that Gran Turismo has garnered over the years. Starting with the first version for the Playstation, up until now, the series has been the definitive racing video game for auto lovers.

Despite this, our patience has been tested as of late. The fifth installment of the series has been delayed numerous times and even though we keep getting word of a holiday release date, one never knows anymore. Predicting the release date of Gran Turismo 5 is like predicting the weather in the year 2031.

Now, we have word from Autoweek that the series developers are already looking ahead to the sixth version. The game’s creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, confirmed that they’re working on it, but would say no more about it. We have no idea when to expect the release of such a game or what it might have in it. The way Gran Turismo 5 is going, we might not see the sixth one until the next decade.

“It’s not something that we can talk that lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It’s just too early to be talking about GT6,” Yamauchi said to Autoweek.

Okay, Yamauchi, we’ll talk about it in say...2,500 days?

Hell you can relate this to a lot of cars that the manufactures make. It will have this and that and produce this and that.. then when its released and you drive it only to say "Um... are they serious?".

As much as I’m sure I’ll love Gt5 the amount of time it has taking to get to market its going to be a severe let down. Much like a movie with a lot of hype around it in the press and on tv, then when you finally see it you like it but its not up there with the expectation of what you’ve been led to believe it will be like.

If that’s true that they are going to use the same concept with the Gt5..then it will not took a long time before finishing it...but don’t expect too much about the "release date "..

I don’t think it will take that long because i think it is gonna have the same game engine as GT5 so it is not gonna take this long.

This is the biggest disgrace for a human on the planet. He has disgraced his family’s name... I think it’s about time he commits harakiri.

so they are already looking at GT6 but they can’t even get GT5 out. Maybe the plan is to drop GT5 and just develop GT6.
