For the first time since 2017, a new Gran Turismo video game will be launched. It will officially launch on March 4, 2022, and as expected, it will only be available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Gran Turismo 7 is supposedly the culmination of the entire Gran Turismo series and will be released on March 4th, 2022. It is also a fully fledged GT game, not another Gran Turismo Sport, which was okay, but largely underwhelming.
Familiar features
A welcome return to the game will be the “GT Mode,” which will now be called “Campaign Mode. Despite this, the two modes seem as if they will be indistinguishable. The system of winning races and completing challenges to earn money and various racing licenses will be familiar to returning players.
The GT World Map returns as an alternative to traditional menus, resembling a massive complex where the different options are represented by buildings, not just a list of blocks with words in them.
Buying and modifying your cars
Of course, the car list will be massive as well, as is typical with GT games. Hopefully, they stopped that practice from old GT games where they would include different versions of the same car and say they had 1,200 cars in the game. Also, let's hope they are all interesting, we do not need six versions of the base model Nissan Versa, thank you.
Another new function is the "GT Cafe," which, from what we know so far, seems to be a way to acquire random cars, regardless of if you want them or not. Used car dealerships are also back, having not been in the last couple of GT games, which is both good and bad.
Good as in there is a way to buy a cheap car you may only need for one championship that you never plan on using again. But also bad because that implies that money may not be that easy to come by, yet another carryover from old GT games.
tracks and weather
Many of The classic tracks are supposed to be coming back as well. We know that Trial Mountain, High-Speed Ring, the Nurburgring, and Circuit de la Sartre will be returning. For all of those tracks, there will be special weather effects as well to make everything look as pretty as possible. Also, the livery editor and photo mode have been altered to give better ease of use.
As we can see from the trailer, the HUD is the same as in Gran Turismo Sport, which is good. That HUD worked perfectly fine, and it means the creators at Polyphony have not wasted time fixing things that are not broken.
